Doomben Roses
The feature event on the Queensland’s horse racing calendar is the Brisbane Racing Carnival. Held during May at the Eagle Farm and Doomben Racecourses in Brisbane, the carnival is host to a vast array of quality events, one of which is the Group 3 Doomben Roses.
The Doomben Roses takes place in May at the Doomben Racecourse, and draws some of the state’s top three-year-old fillies to compete over 2,020 metres for a share in the $175,000 prize purse. The Group 3 event is the primary lead up event to the coveted Group 1 Queensland Oaks (2400m) a couple of weeks later in the carnival, and therefore attracts a large amount of punters’ interest.
