Nominations Announced – 2012 The Roses

May 14th, 2012

Nominations have been released for the Group 3 The Roses, which is due to run at Doomben racecourse this Saturday May 19, 2012.

31 three-year-old fillies have nominated for the 2012 The Roses, including Shaun Ritchie’s Miss Artistic.

Miss Artistic has won three of her seven race starts and has earned more than $160,000 in prize money.

The filly finished fourth in her most recent start in the Listed Gold Coast Bracelet on May 5, 2012, and will be second-up in the 2012 The Roses.

Miss Artistic has come to Brisbane to pursue a Queensland Oaks campaign after she won the Group 1 New Zealand Oaks at Trentham Racecourse on March 17 this year.

Scorpio Queen is also included in the 2012 The Roses nominations after winning the Gold Coast Bracelet ahead of Miss Artistic last start.

The three-year-old filly has won four of her seven race starts and has earned more than $125,000 in prize money.

The Choisir filly was purchased for $100,000 from the 2010 Magic Millions Yearling Sales on the Gold Coast and is now trained at Rosehill Racecourse by premiership winning trainer Chris Waller.

Princess Rock and Quintessential are also included in the 2012 The Roses nominations.
