2013 The Roses – Nominations Annouced

Nominations have been released for the Group 3 The Roses, which is set to run at Doomben Racecourse this Saturday May 18, 2013.

A total of 30 fillies have nominated for the 2013 The Roses, which is also known as the Doomben Roses, including Dear Demi.

Dear Demi has won five of her 20 race starts and has earned more than $1.35 million in prize money during her horse racing career.

The Dehere filly finished second in the Group 1 Australian Oaks behind Royal Descent at Royal Randwick Racecourse on April 20, 2013.

Dear Demi will be out to claim her first win since she claimed victory in the Group 2 Surround Stakes in March.

The three-year-old is trained by Larry Conners at Warwick Farm Racecourse and will be making her first appearance at Brisbane’s Doomben Racecourse.

Also included in the 2013 The Roses nominations is Magic In Motion.

The Magic Albert filly has won both of her race starts this preparation and will be looking to step up to Black Type competition for the first time in the 2013 The Roses.

Magic In Motion has won three of her nine race starts in total and has earned more than $45,000 in prize money during her career.

The Robert Heathcote-trained galloper will be attempting The Roses’ 2,000 metre distance for the first time this weekend.

Kazanluk and Express Power are also included in the 2013 The Roses nominations.
