Having returned to the track in exceptional form this season, Arabian Gold has opened as and maintained status as clear favourite in betting markets for success in the 2014 The Roses, currently offered at short $2.20 odds.

Claiming an impressive total of seven wins and two places from just 16 competitive starts to date, Arabian Gold was a standout performer over the winter of 2013; unlucky to finish second in the Mark Agency Handicap (1080m) first-up before securing three consecutive victories on her way to a hard-fought second behind Guelph in the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) in September.

Continuing to build in form and experience throughout spring, the Dubawi filly finished an impressive fourth in the Group 1 Coolmore Flight Stakes (1600m) on October 5th before strolling home to win the Listed Ethereal Stakes (2000m) ahead of a widely talented field most notably.

Allocated the ideal barrier 1 for The Roses, Arabian Gold has been confirmed to be partnered by talented jockey Blake Shinn and is a huge chance of successfully justifying her resounding favouritism in betting markets this weekend.

Confirmed to make just her second appearance in Australia, talented kiwi import Hera is currently sole occupant of the second line of betting for success in the 2014 Doomben Roses; offered at $4.40 odds having cut in from an initial price of nearly $5.

Securing five victories and a further four minor placings over her 12 competitive starts so far, Hera has fast shot to the forefront of the up-and-coming New Zealand staying community.

A strong and consistent performer over the spring/summer of 2013, the O’reilly filly quickly built to the task; finishing second in the Listed Trevor Eagle Memorial (1500m) on November 30th before comfortably winning the Group 2 Eight Carat Classic (1600m) on Boxing Day.

Overcoming poor running position to claim second in the Listed Karaka Mile (1600m), Hera capped of her homeland preparation in the best way possible; strolling home to win the Group 2 Sir Tristram Fillies Classic (2000m).

Finishing fourth in the Group 3 Untameable Stakes (1400m) on April 26th, trainer Kris Lees is confident veteran jockey Jim Cassidy will get the best from his entrant from the ideal barrier 4 this weekend.

Yet to finish outside the places in five race starts to date, Rock Diva is currently offered as outright third favourite to claim the 2014 Roses, and arguably offers punters the best value for money at her generous odds of $10 for success this weekend.

Debuting with an impressive run for second in the Industry Security Specialists Maiden (1400m) in January, the Lucky Unicorn filly strolled home to win the Group 3 Sunline Vase (2100m) on March 5th before perhaps putting in her most impressive performance to date when third in the Group 1 New Zealand Oaks (2400m) last time out.

With regular jockey Leith Innes confirmed to make the trip across the ditch this weekend, Rock Diva is an excellent chance of causing an upset and well and truly worth a bet at current odds.
