Kenedna has returned to racing in excellent form this season and remains an outright $3.30 favourite in 2017 The Roses betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Dawn Wall ($3.40) and The Pinnacle ($7.50).

Will Kenedna justify favouritism and win The Roses, or will one of her talented rivals post an upset?

Kenedna ($3.30)

Kenedna is yet to be tested on a wet track this time, but the filly’s form has been outstanding this season and she is a deserving favourite to win The Roses. Returning to winning form in the Group 3 The Vanity (1400m), the Not A Single Doubt filly placed third in the Group 2 Kewney Stakes (1400m), before posting consecutive wins in the Listed Laelia Stakes (1600m) and Group 3 Auraria Stakes (1800m). Last seen finishing second in the Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) three weeks ago, Kenedna will jump from the ideal barrier 3 with in-form hoop John Allen in the saddle.

Dawn Wall ($3.40)

Trainer Chris Waller has a big opinion of Dawn Wall and the filly should be right in the finish of The Roses. Winner of the Group 3 Kembla Classic (1600m) before finishing sixth in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) in late March, the daughter of Fastnet Rock returned from a freshen-up to win the Listed Gold Coast Bracelet (1800m) on May 6th without really being tested. She may be require to do some work to find the early pace from barrier 11, but she also has the notable advantage of Hugh Bowman in the saddle on Saturday.

Fallacy ($41)

Fallacy’s best performances this season have been on rain-soaked tracks and the filly is better than her $41 quote suggests amongst this Doomben Roses field. Winner of the Blokes Day Out Maiden (1650m) on a heavy Doomben track on March 22nd, the Commands filly ran a pleasing third in the Group 3 Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m) in Sydney, but could only managed sixth in the Gold Coast Bracelet last time out. With the notable advantage of Jeff Lloyd in the saddle, Fallacy is more than worth consideration for an each-way bet, or a fold in a trifecta at her current The Roses odds.
